Our third day of camp was bursting with excitement, from a theme day to many special visitors. Today was our first theme day of the summer, Wacky Wednesday! Campers came out of their cars donning backwards shirts, mismatched socks, and outlandish hairstyles.
On top of all the wackiness, our campers also received some special visitors. Ms. AK said hello and introduced her son, Kieran, to our CCC Shines community.
Following a quiet hello, our campers prepared for their TV performance for FOX 29! Live performances are hard work, so our campers earned a long snack break afterward.
Soaring into Class 🪁
To celebrate Wacky Wednesday, Ms. Bridget had everyone creating wacky drawings and playing freeze dance!
Campers split into teams playing Capture the Flag with Mr. Babcock.
Continuing our conversations about Jesus, campers learned about the story of “The Boy Jesus in the Temple” from the Gospel of Luke.
Our campers are putting their memories to the test, reviewing all three dances with Ms. Phoebe and Ms. Mary Kate.
In art classes, our campers started designing some dazzling paper kites!
Our actors and actresses playing our furry friends in Frog and Toad are beginning to work on their characters with Ms. Ruth, tackling all of the show’s silly scenes.
Mr. Will joins our music staff and helped teach our campers a new song, “Cookies.”
CCC Shines Takes the Stage with FOX 29 📹
Another special guest who joined us today was Jenn Frederick with FOX 29! Jenn was excited to return to CCC Shines and meet our new campers for the summer, while also reconnecting with some old friends. Featuring a sneak preview of our opening number, Jenn was blown away by all of the energy and talent shining on the stage. Watch our segment here!
