As we begin to finish up our first week of Session 2, we are starting to come together as a community both on and off stage. Our campers headed straight to the stage this morning, practicing all the material they had learned this week.
Our practice time was shorter than usual; however, as we had some special guests joining us for a lovely presentation. After learning all about Elora from the Elora J. Khan Foundation, it was time to head to break!
When You Can’t Find the Light, Be The Light

During stage time, our campers were visited by Mr. and Mrs Khan from the Elora J. Khan Foundation. Elora was a student at St. Anastasia who went to heaven seven months after being diagnosed with DIPG, a rare, incurable brainstem tumor. Throughout this presentation, campers learned about Elora’s wonderful life, her faith, and the power of prayer. Thank you to the Elora J. Khan Foundation for sharing with our campers ways they can be the light, even if they can’t find one.
Finding the Light in Classes

In the spirit of Elora, we made beautiful coffee filter butterflies.

Helping our community, campers created gift bags for families that have been affected by DIPG tumors.

Campers began learning their next big musical number, “Money On That Tree!”

Ms. Phoebe kicked off dance class with our finale, “Welcome Home!”

We are working hard as we begin to block our show in acting class.

Mr. Babcock introduced campers to a brand new game, Relay Charades.

Campers are continuing to get creative in Faith Formation, making Hail Mary cards for the mother’s home in Darby!
Campers of the Day 🏆

Congratulations to our campers of the day! These campers were recognized for being leaders in their group, setting an example for others on what it means to shine on and off the stage. Good job Austin, Charlie, Brooks, Owen, Graeme, Naomi, Pallavi, Ava, Patrick, and Desmond!
General Updates 🗞️
Who doesn’t want a sweet treat in the summertime? Come support CCC Shines by getting some Rita’s Water Ice on July 10th! All day long, Rita’s Water Ice in Drexel Hill will be donating a percentage of all proceeds to CCC Shines. We hope to see you there!
Water Day is tomorrow! All campers should wear a modest bathing suit under their camper t-shirt and shorts or swim trunks. It is a great time to label t-shirts if you haven’t yet. Sneakers should be worn, and campers need to pack a towel and their usual lunch, snacks, and water bottles. Remember to please apply sunscreen before camp; campers will spend a lot of time outside on our waterslides, but will take time for breaks indoors as well. It is sure to be a great day!
Want to know what’s happening at camp? We’ll be sending these blogs out every day when camp is done, so be sure to stay tuned. We also give you all the best moments, memories, updates, and videos on our Instagram and Facebook daily. Check them out to view all the fun this summer! ✨
