If you’ve walked into or past rehearsal lately, you may have heard laughter in the hallway, music echoing through the building, or caught a glimpse of students practicing their best ogre impressions.
That’s because Shrek Jr. is officially in production month at CCC Shines, and things are buzzing.
Our cast has moved from learning lines and choreography to bringing the story fully to life. Costumes are being finalized, scenes are taking shape, and every rehearsal brings new moments of creativity, courage, and teamwork. Watching students grow more confident each week is one of our favorite parts of the process.
And that’s just the beginning.
Behind the Curtain
While our students are busy on stage, there’s just as much happening behind the scenes.
Parents are helping with costumes and props, our production team is shaping the technical elements of the show, and 8th & 9th grade cast members are stepping up to support their castmates. These moments remind us that CCC Shines is about much more than performing. It’s about community, leadership, and belonging.
Every production becomes its own little family with it’s own book of memories.
Looking Ahead
As exciting as this season is, we’re already preparing for what’s next.
Summer Camp registration opened and sold out in record time. While Shrek Jr. is about to open, our summer team is busy preparing for another great three months on and off the stage…and in SEA ISLE CITY, NJ!
We’re also building new opportunities for students, including:
- A Micro Musical Session this spring announcing later this week!
- An Audition Prep Series for students preparing for upcoming shows and summer camp.
- More leadership and service opportunities that help students shine on and off the stage.
Our goal is simple: create even more ways for young people to grow in confidence, creativity, and courage.
The Best Part
If you’ve ever attended a CCC Shines performance, you know the magic doesn’t just happen on stage.
It happens when a student takes a brave step out of their comfort zone.
When castmates cheer for each other during rehearsal.
When families and friends fill the audience to celebrate the work of these young performers.
That’s what makes this community special.
And we can’t wait to share it with you when the curtain rises.
