At CCC Shines, this time of year always feels special.
As we move closer to show week, several traditions begin to unfold. Final rehearsals coming together, opportunities to celebrate our students’ growth, and moments where our community steps outside the theater to shine together.
With **just about two weeks until the curtain rises on Shrek Jr. **, the excitement inside rehearsals is building quickly. 🎭
This stage of the rehearsal process is often what theater calls “tech time.” Lighting cues are layered in, scene changes are practiced, choreography sharpens, and musical numbers take on new life as everything begins to work together.
Students aren’t just rehearsing their parts anymore. They’re learning how to bring the entire show to life as a team.
For many of our performers, this is one of the most rewarding parts of the process. It’s where confidence grows, friendships strengthen, and the magic of live theater truly starts to take shape.
There’s more movement backstage. More costumes starting to appear. More focused rehearsals where every moment counts.
And we can’t wait for our community to see the result. Reserve your tickets today!
Investing in the Next Chapter

While the stage lights are shining bright for our current cast, we’re also celebrating the next chapter for some of our longest-standing members.
Each year, CCC Shines awards two scholarships to graduating 8th grade members to support their transition into high school.
These scholarships can be used toward tuition, school supplies, technology needs, or other educational expenses, helping students continue their academic journey with confidence.
But this scholarship represents something even more meaningful.
Recipients are selected based on how they embody the mission of CCC Shines; students who use their talents to shine both on and off the stage. These young leaders have grown through the performing arts, supported their fellow cast members, and made a positive impact on our community.
They remind us that the skills developed through theater, confidence, leadership, teamwork, and creativity, carry far beyond the stage.
📅 Applications for this year’s scholarships are due March 30th, so be sure to take a look at this great opportunity funded by donors who believe in the mission of CCC Shines and desire to support the future of our current students.
A Community Tradition

This Saturday, CCC Shines will be stepping off the stage and into the community as we participate in the Springfield St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
For many of our families, this has become a fun annual tradition. A chance for students, staff, and supporters to come together, celebrate our production(s), and share the spirit of CCC Shines with the broader community.
You may spot some familiar faces from our productions, a little green attire, and plenty of smiles as we walk through town.
Events like this remind us that CCC Shines isn’t just a performing arts program. It’s a community of families, students, and supporters who come together to celebrate creativity, connection, and belonging. Walk with us on Saturday!
The Countdown Is On

With rehearsals in full swing, scholarships being awarded, and community traditions ahead, this is one of those special moments in the CCC Shines season when everything feels connected.
The stage lights are warming up.
The cast is preparing for their big moment.
And our students continue to grow, lead, and shine…both on stage and beyond it.
Stay tuned as we head into show week soon… we can’t wait to share it with you.
Because at CCC Shines, the magic isn’t just in the performance. It’s in the journey that gets us there.
