Things are moving quickly here at CCC. With our production of Disney’s Descendants: The Musical coming up this Thursday, we kicked into high gear on and off the stage. We ran through the full show, including every musical number with the entire cast as well as all of the scenes with our lead roles. Everything has been looking amazing, but now with our new stage decks and backdrop it really feels like we’re in Auradon!
“Anyone Can Shine”✨
In addition to running the show on stage, we had all the off stage fun you would expect from #SummerbytheCCC24. In art class, we crafted our own butterflies out of coffee filters. They look spectacular! Our creativity didn’t stop there. We also made time to work on a long time CCC tradition: Kiss Bags! Feel free to fill up these bags with candy and treats on show day for your child to take home with them!
It was hot outside today, so Mr. Babcock brought us inside to a nice cool air-conditioned room for games class! We played guessing games, listened to music, and hung out with the coolest counselor at CCC! After games Mr. Elijah led a special activity planned in Faith formation. Today’s discussion was all about the power of prayer, intentions, and intercessions. With that in mind, we came together to place sticky notes with our prayer intentions written on them onto a cross. This cross full of prayer intentions will be offered up at Mass before our show on Thursday. It warms our hearts to see the campers participate and think so much about prayer!
What’s Descendants? 🤔
Descendants is a first for CCC. It’s not your average Disney musical and you might not have seen the movie like most of our campers. In case you were wondering, “Descendants: The Musical” is a story set in the kingdom of Auradon, where the children of classic Disney villains are given a chance to attend school alongside the children of Disney heroes. The plot follows Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos—teenage descendants of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar, and Cruella de Vil—as they navigate life at Auradon Prep. They grapple with whether to follow in their parents’ villainous footsteps or embrace the chance to be good. You won’t want to miss it this Thursday, July 18th at 7pm at Friday July 19th at 2pm at Cardinal O’Hara High School. Purchase your tickets online or at the door!
