Find programs by grade
We serve students from Pre-K through 12th grade. Find your child’s grade along the top to see which programs are open to them.
Programs & ages
CCC Shines offers programs for students from Pre-K through 12th grade, depending on the program:
- Summer Camp: Pre-K through 8th grade
- Main Stage Productions: Kindergarten through 9th grade
- Senior Show: 6th through 12th grade
- Junior Show: 2nd through 6th grade
- Junior Show student volunteers: 7th through 9th grade
- Apprentice Program: 7th through 9th grade
- School Day Off: Pre-K 4 through 5th grade
- Shine Night Out & Shine Service Days: 5th through 8th grade
Yes. Shine Night Out and Shine Service Days are monthly events for 5th through 8th graders, a chance to have fun, give back, and spend time with friends from CCC. See upcoming dates and sign up.
Yes. Students in 7th through 9th grade can volunteer with our Junior Show, working alongside our staff to support the younger 2nd through 6th grade cast. It’s a great way to share what they’ve learned, build leadership skills, and stay part of the show from a new angle.
Details and sign-up are on the Junior Show page.
Auditions & casting
No. Every registered student is in the show, and auditions are never required. Auditions are only for students who would like to be considered for a lead or supporting role, including featured dancer.
Any registered student in 2nd through 9th grade may audition, and no experience is needed. Whether it’s their very first audition or they’ve been on stage many times, every child is welcome.
We welcome younger students (2nd through 4th grade) to audition because the experience builds confidence on and off the stage. If your child auditions, we encourage you to remind them that it’s a chance to learn and grow, and it may not result in a lead or supporting role.
No. Our youngest performers don’t audition. Kindergarten and 1st grade students perform in two of the show’s four performances, which gives them a fun, manageable first taste of being on stage.
It’s a gentle transition into the full CCC Shines experience, and students can begin auditioning in 2nd grade.
Leads and supporting roles are expected at every rehearsal they’re called for on the broken-down schedule, unless they’re sick. Because the schedule is organized by scene and song, missing a rehearsal can mean missing the only time a scene is worked.
Please review the rehearsal schedule and your family’s calendar together before your child auditions.
- Singing: Students learn a portion of a song, announced before auditions, together as a group. Each student then sings it individually.
- Dancing: Students learn a short dance combination and perform it in a group.
We provide the music to every student who auditions.
- One-day auditions and callbacks: Some students will be asked to stay after their audition for callbacks. Plan for an extra 2 to 3 hours beyond the original start time.
- Two-day auditions and callbacks: The callback list is posted online on the production’s page. If your child’s name is on the list, they should attend callbacks on the scheduled date.
When your child finishes callbacks, they’ll call home for a ride. Our staff stay with every child until they’re picked up.
- 4th through 9th grade: These students carry the biggest commitment. Students who aren’t cast in a named role or group are part of the ensemble, which has some weekday rehearsals.
- Kindergarten through 3rd grade: Most students rehearse on Sundays for the majority of the season. Closer to the show, the full cast is called for additional weekday rehearsals.
On rare occasions, a younger student may be cast in a role that requires additional time.
Rehearsals & attendance
- 4th through 9th grade: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, as called on the schedule
- Kindergarten through 3rd grade: Sundays, plus select weekdays as the show approaches
- Weekdays: usually 4:45 to 6:30 pm, extending to 7:00 or 7:30 pm closer to the show
- Sundays: 2:00 to 4:30 pm
- Final two tech weeks: additional weekday rehearsals are added
- Show week: one longer tech rehearsal on the weekend, either Saturday or Sunday depending on the schedule
The full broken-down rehearsal schedule is shared before the season begins, so you’ll know the commitment in advance.
We’re flexible all season with conflicts and other activities. If your child has a recurring activity, like a sport or class, that regularly overlaps our schedule, please consider it before registering. Missed rehearsals add up and can affect preparation for the show.
School and religious education (PREP) are always excused. If PREP causes regular absences, please plan ahead so your child can attend all of the mandatory rehearsals at the end of the season.
CCC Shines is based at Cardinal O’Hara High School, 1701 S. Sproul Road, Springfield, PA 19064. Rehearsals and performances take place on campus.
Costumes
Yes. CCC provides the majority of your child’s costume as part of registration. Students are measured at rehearsals and receive their costumes in the final two weeks before production weekend.
Costumes are on loan. Families are responsible for them and return them after the show as instructed.
You’ll be asked to get a few items to complete your child’s costume, including undergarments and shoes. Some roles may also need specific tights, a shirt, or pants. We’ll let you know well in advance.
Students wear their costumes to the dress rehearsals noted on the schedule. If your child has received their costume ahead of time, they should arrive in full costume for dress rehearsals and performances. We’ll share more details throughout the season.
School Day Off
CCC Shines Out! When school is out, the stage is on. On select days when your child has no school, we offer a full-day program filled with musical theatre workshops, arts and crafts, games, dance, and creative expression.
Children rotate through singing, acting, crafts, and indoor or outdoor play in a safe, supportive environment with our staff.
- Ages: Pre-K 4 through 5th grade
- Drop-off: begins at 8:15 am
- Pick-up: by 3:15 pm
The 2026–2027 schedule will be posted soon on our School Day Off page.
Registration & tickets
All registration happens through the CCC Shines Parent Dashboard. If you’re new, create a family account first; returning families can sign in with their existing login. Registration dates for each program are posted on that program’s page.
Tickets are sold online and linked from each show’s page once they go on sale. Our shows often sell out, so we recommend buying early.
Getting involved
CCC began as a volunteer organization in 2007, and our productions still succeed thanks to the families who pitch in. Any level of help is welcome:
- Set Team: building, painting, props, organizing, and creative details
- Costume Team: organizing, making, tailoring, and cleaning costumes
- Cast Party: helping plan and prepare our cast party tradition after the closing show
There are many other ways to help throughout the season, and we’ll share them all with you.
Gifts to CCC Shines are made through the Shine On Foundation, our fundraising arm. You can give directly, and we also accept grants from donor-advised funds.
No questions match that search. Try a shorter word like “rehearsal” or “price,” or reach out to us below.
