As we kick off #SummerbytheCCC25, we welcome campers new and old to the stage with A Year with Frog and Toad TYA. Despite the chilly weather, our campers came in ready to tackle the first day with dazzling energy and positive attitudes!
To start our summer off right, our campers were introduced to the new friends they will be spending the next two weeks with in their groups. Campers were then brought on stage to join in prayer, meet the staff, and go over camp safety and day-to-day routines. After wrapping that up, it was time for a well-deserved break.
Coming back from break, our campers headed off to their first of many classes for the day!
Some of our campers headed off to music class, where Ms. Keira and Ms. Lily taught our opening number that is loaded with harmonies and intricate lyrics.
Ms. Phoebe got everybody moving and grooving with choreography for our opening number and our finale.
Even with the cooler weather, our campers had a blast playing soccer with Mr. Babcock outside.
Campers got creative with Mrs. Ellis, crafting some green frogs from paper plates. An activity so fun that even our counselors wanted to get in on the action!
Ms. Ruth taught all of our campers what skills a good actor or actress should possess: vocal projection, communication, and a strong stage presence.
Although our campers are split into groups, Ms. Bridget played icebreakers with everyone to allow them to create connections with campers of different ages.
Faith Formation saw a new face today, with Ms. Abby taking the lead and teaching everyone all about how we act when we enter the Chapel.
Audition Central
With our first day of camp come auditions! Our campers were taught the beginning of “Merry Almost Christmas,” and were brought up in small groups to sing for our production team. Auditioning takes a lot of courage, so we are very proud of all the campers who put themselves out there and showed off their skills!
With the loada talent we saw for A Year with Frog and Toad TYA, it is going to be hard sorting through this casting. Be on the lookout tonight for the cast list, which can be found here.
Congratulations to our campers of the day! These campers were recognized for being leaders in their group, setting an example for others on what it means to shine on and off the stage. Good job Matthew, Scarlett, Matthew, Margot, Adriana, Lena, Xavier, Sienna, Cora, and Paddy!
Want to know what’s happening at camp? We’ll be sending these blogs out every day when camp is done, so be sure to stay tuned. We also give you all the best moments, memories, updates, and videos on our Instagram and Facebook daily. Check them out to view all the fun this summer! ✨
