Our second day of the Musical Theater Intensive Camp was all about preparing campers for success both in and out of the audition room! From learning about the many paths into musical theater to strengthening their audition skills, campers continued growing as confident, well-rounded performers.
Today’s focus was helping campers understand what it takes to pursue musical theater. We discussed the many different paths into the theater industry, showing campers that every performer’s journey is unique.
Campers also learned the building blocks of creating a theater résumé, including the experiences, training, and performances that help tell their story as performers.
In Acting Class, campers explored how to walk into an audition feeling prepared and confident. They discussed the importance of making strong acting choices, understanding the character, and showing directors who they are as performers. They also learned how to prepare an audition cut, an essential skill for future auditions in school, community theater, and beyond.
Meanwhile, in Music and Dance, campers continued rehearsing their group performance numbers, working together to strengthen their vocals, choreography, and stage presence.
