What a year it has been! We closed the curtain on Shrek the Musical Jr. with full hearts, thunderous applause, and the kind of joy that only live performance can create. And then, almost before the confetti settled… we did something we’ve never done before. We opened a brand new door.
Introducing CCC Shines Jr. Show: our first-ever dedicated program for our youngest performers, with our 7th-9th graders in new roles where they give back as apprentices, launching this season with The Jungle Book Kids. 🌿
A Proper Send-Off for Far Far Away
Shrek Jr. was everything we hoped it would be and then some. Our students brought humor, heart, and genuine artistry to every performance. From Lord Farquaad’s perfectly timed swagger to Fiona’s powerhouse vocals, from the ensemble’s infectious energy to the crew working quietly and brilliantly behind the scenes, this show reminded us of exactly why we do what we do and what makes us special, makes us strong!
To every student who rehearsed, memorized, stumbled, grew, and ultimately shone on that stage: we are so proud of you. To our families who showed up, cheered, and trusted us with your kids, thank you. And to our incredible production team, young staff leaders and dedicated volunteers who made it all happen, this one’s yours too.
Shrek Jr. wasn’t just a show. It was a community coming together celebrating our differences and bringing so much joy. And that never gets old.
Something Brand New: CCC Shines Jr. Show
Here’s the exciting part. We’ve been listening. For years, families have asked about more programming for our youngest performers: the ones who are ready to perform, but need a space that’s built just for them. That space is here.
CCC Shines Jr. Show is our first-ever dedicated performing arts program designed specifically for younger students. It’s built on the same values that have guided CCC Shines since 2011: community, character and confidence, and the belief that every child deserves a stage, but scaled to meet young performers exactly where they are.
And our inaugural production? The Jungle Book Kids. 🐯 We couldn’t have picked a better story to launch this program. A tale about finding your place, embracing community, and having the courage to be exactly who you are. It’s everything CCC Shines Jr. Show is about and a production that marks so many special milestones for our community through the years. We can’t wait to see this cast bring Mowgli, Baloo, King Louie, and the whole jungle to life and for our apprentices to shine so bright in a new one.

A Season of Magical Memories and a Glimpse of What’s Ahead
CCC Shines has been building something since 2007. And this year we’ve had some incredible milestone and memorable moments. As we head into the summer months, we can’t wait to continue to celebrate and shine on and off the stage together…and now in Sea Isle City, NJ too!
