Our second day of Moana camp was filled with excitement, creativity, and teamwork! As campers continue getting to know one another, they’re also growing more confident in their music, dance, acting, and faith formation activities. Every day brings us one step closer to our final performance, and we are already seeing so much growth from our campers!
Bringing Moana to Life
In Music Class, campers continued practicing “You’re Welcome” and “We Know the Way.” With each rehearsal, voices grew stronger and more confident as everyone worked together to learn the music.
Over in Dance Class, campers reviewed the choreography for “You’re Welcome” and “Where You Are.” Their energy and enthusiasm filled the room as they continued learning the exciting dances that will bring our production to life.
In Acting Class, campers had a blast participating in a variety of improv games. These activities encouraged creativity, quick thinking, teamwork, and confidence while helping campers develop important acting skills in a fun and engaging way.

Growing in Faith
Faith Formation was filled with meaningful reflection and fun activities. Campers learned about Heart Prayer, a simple way to open our hearts and talk with God. They also enjoyed games of Silent Ball and Doggy Doggy, Where’s Your Bone?, reinforcing lessons about listening, kindness, and community while having fun together.

Creative Camp Fun
In Art Class, campers created beautiful tropical tissue paper flowers inspired by the colorful islands of Moana. Each flower was unique and bright, adding a splash of island fun to our classrooms.

Games Galore!
Campers enjoyed an exciting game of Capture the Flag, where teamwork, strategy, and encouragement were on full display. Whether they were racing to capture the flag or cheering on teammates, everyone had a fantastic time staying active and making memories together.

Staff Challenge
Our Staff Challenge was full of creativity and laughter! Staff members competed in a baton relay race, but there was one catch, they had to bring their own baton! From silly household items to creative homemade creations, the batons were as entertaining as the race itself. It was another fun way to build team spirit and keep the energy high around camp.

Counselor Corner
We asked our counselors:
“Why do you love being a camp counselor for CCC Shines, and what is something you love that your campers do?”
Ms. Chloe: “I love being a camp counselor because it brings me joy to work with the people I used to go to camp with and give back what our counselors gave us! I love when my campers smile big on stage and create friendships that will last!”
Mr. Ryan: “I love being a camp counselor because it makes me happy when the kids I work with are happy learning new things and making new friends. I love when my campers talk to new people they’ve never met before and become friends with them, and I love seeing them have so much fun learning new things in their classes.”

Let’s Hear From Our Campers!
Today we asked our campers:
“Which Moana character would you want to sail across the ocean with?”
Here are their answers:
- Charlie P.: Pua
- Connor M.: Maui
- Colin P.: Moana or Hei Hei
We loved hearing everyone’s favorite characters and can’t wait to see these beloved roles come to life throughout camp!
