Today was an unforgettable day at CCC Shines as we prepared for our first performance of Moana! After weeks of rehearsals, learning, and growing together, our campers were ready to take the stage. The excitement was contagious as everyone put the finishing touches on the show before welcoming family and friends for opening night.

Final Preparations

Before the curtain rose, campers completed two full run-throughs of the show to make sure everything was performance-ready. From singing and dancing to scene changes and character work, everyone gave their very best effort as they prepared for tonight’s performance.

With performances scheduled for tonight at 7:00 p.m. and tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., campers showed incredible focus, teamwork, and confidence throughout the day.

Celebrating Mass Together

One of the most meaningful parts of the day was celebrating Mass as a camp community. Campers, counselors, and staff gathered together in prayer, thanking God for the many blessings of this camp session and asking for His guidance as we prepared to share our gifts on stage.

It was a wonderful reminder that the talents we share are gifts from God and that we can use them to bring joy to others.

Staff Challenge Fun

Before our second run-through, the staff participated in one of our fun staff challenges! Filled with laughter, teamwork, and a little friendly competition, it was a great way to keep the energy high before getting back to rehearsal.

Counselor Corner

We asked our counselors:

“Why do you love being a camp counselor for CCC Shines, and what is something you love about your campers?”

Amelia: “I like being a counselor because working with little kids is so rewarding and fun. I love it when all the little kids play together.”

Wilmorene: “I enjoy being a counselor because I get to work hands-on with kids every day. I also get to make so many memories with my campers. I love when my campers make me laugh.”

Thank you, Amelia and Wilmorene, for making camp such a joyful and caring place for our campers!

Let’s Hear From Our Campers!

Today we asked our campers:

“If you could sail with Moana anywhere in the world, where would you go?”

Here are their adventurous answers:

  • Skylar C.: Disney
  • Joseph C.: Belgium
  • Danielle M.: Italy

We love hearing about all the places our campers dream of exploring!

Campers of the Day

Congratulation to the following campers for shining brightly on and off the stage:

Sophia Welsh, Millie Einspanier, Riley Brown, Maggie Roe, Josephine Arimoto, Nicholas Brennan, Rylie Rubio, Lucy Tansey, Peyton Heppler, Madeline Palmer, Ivy Knee, Michael DiPaul, and Anna Nelson

Ready to Shine

Tonight marks the moment our campers have been working toward all session long. We are incredibly proud of their dedication, perseverance, and enthusiasm as they bring Moana to life on stage.

To every camper, counselor, volunteer, staff member, and family member—thank you for making this production possible. We can’t wait to celebrate all of the hard work and memories that have made this summer so special.
