The excitement is building at CCC Shines as we officially held our first dress rehearsals for our performances happening tomorrow and Friday! After days of learning music, dance, acting, and stage direction, campers had the opportunity to rehearse the show in costume and experience what performance day will feel like. The stage is set, and our campers are ready to shine!

Dress Rehearsal Success

Today was all about preparing for opening night. Campers worked through the show during their first full dress rehearsal, practicing everything from costumes and choreography to scene changes and stage movement.

Seeing the costumes, music, choreography, and acting all come together was an exciting milestone for both campers and staff. We are incredibly proud of everyone’s hard work and can’t wait for our audiences to experience the magic of Moana!

Creative Camp Fun

In Art Class, campers created beautiful Moana island sun catchers inspired by the tropical scenery of the show. Their colorful creations were a fun reminder of the island adventure we’ve been exploring all session long.

Growing in Faith

In Faith Formation, campers prayed together by reflecting on a decade of the Rosary, taking time to grow closer to God through prayer.

They also completed a special service project by making flower crafts for a local nursing home. Through this thoughtful activity, campers shared kindness and encouragement with members of our community, reminding us that even small acts of love can brighten someone’s day.

Time to Play

Campers enjoyed some well-earned time outside playing recess games with their friends. It was a wonderful opportunity to relax, laugh, and enjoy the beautiful day together before returning to show preparations.

Counselor Corner

We asked our counselors:

“Why do you love being a camp counselor for CCC Shines, and what is something you love about your campers?”

Ms. Camille: “I love being a counselor because I love watching the kids grow and change throughout camp! I love being there for the kids and helping them develop their love for performing on stage. One of my favorite things that my campers do is making me drawings in art class.”

Ms. Danielle S.: “I love being a counselor because I love getting to meet new kids and watch them grow throughout camp! My favorite thing about the campers is when they tell me all about their families and the friends they have made at camp.”

Let’s Hear From Our Campers!

Today we asked our campers:

“What do you think next summer’s shows will be?”

Here are some of their predictions:

  • Matthew M.: Aladdin
  • Jack S.: Junie B. Jones
  • Penny S.: The Little Mermaid

We love hearing our campers’ guesses and can’t wait to see what exciting adventures the future holds!

Campers of the Day

Congratulations to these campers for shining brightly on and off the stage:

Riley Porche, Brady Falkenstein, Daniel Cleaver, Layne Boyce, Millie Mallon, Teace Finnegan, Grace CannonRocco Lomanno, Brayden Thompson, Gabriella Melvin, Penny Sekula, Elinor Dillon, and Brian Manning.

Looking Ahead

Tomorrow is opening night! After weeks of rehearsals, learning, laughter, and friendships, our campers are ready to take the stage and share all of their hard work with family and friends.

We are so proud of every camper, counselor, volunteer, and staff member who helped make this production possible. We can’t wait to see our campers shine!
