Today marked the start of our final week of Annie Jr., and the excitement is definitely building! With performances just around the corner, campers spent the day reviewing, rehearsing, and putting the finishing touches on all of their hard work. The energy around camp was filled with anticipation as everyone prepared for show week!

Show Week Is Here!

During our morning stage time, campers focused on practicing their entrances and exits for the show. These important details help the production run smoothly, and our campers did a fantastic job learning where they need to be and when. Every rehearsal brings us one step closer to opening night!

Learning, Creating, and Performing

In Dance and Music, campers spent time reviewing all of the songs and choreography they have worked so hard to learn over the past few weeks. Their confidence continues to grow as they prepare to perform in front of family and friends.

In Acting Class, campers focused on reactions and how actors can use facial expressions and body language to respond to what is happening around them on stage. These skills help bring characters to life and make scenes even more engaging for the audience.

Our artists got creative in Art Class by making beautiful butterflies using coffee filters. Each butterfly was unique and colorful, showcasing the creativity and imagination of our campers.

Faith in Action

In Faith Formation, our younger campers listened to a read-aloud book about how God made summer and all the wonderful blessings that come with this special season.

Campers also participated in a service project by creating postcards for priests and sisters in our local area. Through kind words and thoughtful messages, campers shared gratitude and encouragement with those who dedicate their lives to serving others.

Time for Games

Campers enjoyed some friendly competition during Games, where they played kickball and wiffle ball. Whether they were kicking, batting, running the bases, or cheering on their teammates, everyone had a great time staying active and having fun together.

Behind the Scenes

A lot is happening behind the curtain as we prepare for our performances! Campers began trying on costumes, our set team continued making final preparations to the scenery and props, and our older campers participated in a stumble-through rehearsal to put all of the pieces together.

Don’t forget—our performances are this Thursday at 7pm and Friday at 10 am and 2pm! We can’t wait to share all of our campers’ hard work with family and friends.

Counselor Corner

We asked our counselors:

“Why do you love being a camp counselor for CCC Shines, and what is something you love that your campers do?”

Emma K.: “I like hanging out with the kids and seeing them shine on the stage. I also love hearing them tell me about their favorite activities that they do after camp.”

Sean C.: “I love being a camp counselor because I love to see all the kids sing and dance and have a ton of fun. I love seeing my campers having so much fun on stage as they sing and dance their hearts out.”

Let’s Hear From Our Campers!

Today we asked our campers:

“What is your favorite song in Annie Jr.?”

Here are some of their answers:

  • Patrick H.: “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile”
  • Summer E.: “NYC”
  • Stella C.: “NYC”

Congratulations to the following campers for shining brightly on and off the stage!

Looking Ahead

As we enter the final days before our performances, excitement continues to grow throughout camp. We are so proud of our campers for their hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm. We can’t wait to see everything come together on stage this week!

Be sure to stay tuned for more updates as we count down to opening night!
