Today was another exciting day at CCC Shines as campers continued preparing for their upcoming performances of Annie Jr.! With show week in full swing, campers spent the day polishing their skills, putting the final pieces together, and even celebrating a very special birthday.

Happy Birthday, Mr. Brac!
One of the highlights of the day was celebrating Mr. Brac’s birthday! To make the day extra special, several staff members dressed up just like Mr. Brac, bringing lots of laughs and smiles throughout camp.

Bringing the Show Together
As opening night gets closer, campers continued putting all the pieces of Annie Jr. together. Stumble through rehearsal was in full swing today. This helps the campers get an idea of how the show will look before having our dress rehearsals.
The excitement is growing as campers see all of their hard work come to life on stage!

Learning Through the Arts
In Acting Class, campers explored how actors move on stage and how physical choices can help bring a character to life. Through movement exercises and character work, campers practiced using their bodies to communicate personality and emotion.
In Art Class, campers created Kiss Bags, a special camp tradition. These bags are used to collect encouraging notes and kind messages from our audience during the show. Campers enjoyed decorating their bags.

Growing in Faith
Faith Formation focused on prayer, community, and Scripture. Campers participated in a Creation Prayer Service, taking time to thank God for the many blessings of creation. They also enjoyed several rounds of Bible Bingo, testing their knowledge of important people, places, and stories from the Bible while having lots of fun.

Counselor Corner
We asked our counselors:
“Why do you love being a camp counselor for CCC Shines, and what is something you love that your campers do?”
Joey M.: “I love being a camp counselor because it’s a fun job to have, and the kids are fun to work with. I love when they sing loudly on stage.”
Brayden B.: “I love being a camp counselor because I love to see when campers are having fun. When the campers start chanting things, I know they’re having fun.”

Let’s Hear From Our Campers!
In honor of Mr. Brac’s Birthday, today we asked our campers:
“What is something Mr. Brac has taught you that has stuck with you?”
Here are some of their thoughtful responses:
- Rosie M.: “Be the best version of yourself.”
- Maria M.: “If you’re going to make a mistake, make a loud one.”
- Anna N.: “Make the first and last word of the show the loudest.”
