There was no shortage of excitement at CCC Shines today as one of our favorite summer traditions returned… Water Day! After another morning of hard work preparing for Moana Jr., campers enjoyed an afternoon filled with laughter, sunshine, and plenty of splashes. From rehearsals to water slides, today perfectly reflected what summer at CCC Shines is all about: growing together, working hard, and celebrating along the way.

Water Day Smiles!

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly our annual Water Day! Campers spent time outside enjoying four giant water slides, exciting outdoor games, and plenty of opportunities to cool off with their friends and counselors.

The campus was filled with laughter as campers raced down slides, cheered one another on, and enjoyed a well-earned break after a productive week of rehearsals. Moments like these help strengthen friendships and create the unforgettable summer memories that make CCC Shines so special.

Bringing Moana Jr. to Life

Even with all the excitement of Water Day, our campers remained focused on preparing for the stage.

During Stage Time, the cast worked on putting even more of the show together. Scene by scene, campers continued connecting all of the music, choreography, and acting they’ve been learning throughout the week. It’s exciting to see the story of Moana Jr. beginning to come to life!

Our older campers learned “Warrior Face (Reprise)” with Mr. Jacob, adding another powerful musical moment to the production as well as work with the Ocean Ensemble with Ms. Emma, Miss Mary Kate and Miss Grace. Meanwhile, our younger campers spent time reviewing the songs they’ve already learned, building confidence and strengthening their voices with every rehearsal.

Behind the Scenes Magic

While campers were rehearsing, our incredible set team continued working behind the scenes to transform the stage. Paint brushes were busy all day as scenery and set pieces continued taking shape. Every detail brings us one step closer to creating the island world of Moana for our audiences.

Our lead actors also spent dedicated rehearsal time continuing their blocking and scene work. Their commitment and focus are helping build strong performances that will guide the entire cast through the story.

Staff Spotlight

Our staff members pour their hearts into every day at camp, and today we’re excited to highlight two team members helping make this summer so meaningful.

Kyle shared: “I like being a counselor because this place has been my home for as long as I can remember, and I am able to provide that for the campers now. I love hanging out with the campers whenever we have downtime and playing games with them outside.”

Lily shared:“I love being a camp counselor and music teacher because it brings me so much joy to teach the kids music and see them sing along to the songs. Watching them perform never fails to put a smile on my face. Something the campers do that I love is when they get excited coming into the music room. They are always so excited to be in music, and it makes my day!”

Their passion, enthusiasm, and dedication help create the welcoming environment that makes CCC Shines feel like home for so many campers.

Camper Corner

Today’s question was: Slip and Slide or Water Slide? Our campers had some fun opinions!

  • Scott S.: “Slip and slide!”
  • Mackenzie N.: “Water slide!”
  • James T.: “Water slide!”

Water Slides for the win!

Another Incredible Day at CCC Shines

As another wonderful day comes to a close, we’re grateful for the opportunity to watch our campers continue growing in confidence, building friendships, and discovering their God-given talents. Whether they were rehearsing on stage, painting scenery, singing with friends, or racing down a water slide, every moment helped make today one to remember.

We can’t wait to see what next week brings as our Moana Jr. journey continues!
