Another exciting day at CCC Shines brought us even closer to our Moana performances! Campers spent the day reviewing music and choreography, creating island-inspired crafts, growing in faith, and putting the finishing touches on every part of the show. The excitement around camp continues to build as everyone prepares to take the stage!

Rehearsing for the Big Show

Our campers worked hard during Dance Class, where they reviewed choreography while also practicing their entrances and exits for the show. Every rehearsal helps campers become more confident as they prepare for performance week.

In Music Class, campers reviewed all of the songs they have learned so far. Our older campers also began learning “Te Fiti Restored,” adding another beautiful piece to the production.

During Stage Time, the entire camp came together to rehearse all of our full cast numbers. It was exciting to see everyone singing, dancing, and working together as one big cast!

Creative Island Creations

In Art Class, campers embraced the tropical spirit of Moana by creating colorful island sun catchers and beautiful Heart of Te Fiti necklaces. Their creativity was on full display as they crafted keepsakes inspired by the story.

Growing in Faith

Campers spent meaningful time in Faith Formation participating in a guided prayer and Eucharistic Adoration. These quiet moments gave everyone the opportunity to reflect, pray, and spend time with Jesus as a camp community.

Game Time!

Campers stayed active with games of kickball, soccer, and dodgeball. Whether they were scoring goals, kicking home runs, or dodging flying balls, campers had a blast working together, encouraging one another, and enjoying time outside.

Acting Fun

In Acting Class, campers played a fun game called “Dracula.” Campers stood in a circle while the “Dracula” in the middle walked toward another player. Before Dracula could tap them on the shoulder, that camper had to quickly call out someone else’s name to keep the game going! The activity helped campers sharpen their focus, quick thinking, and stage awareness while having lots of fun.

Behind the Scenes

Our incredible Set Team continued working hard to bring the world of Moana to life. Every day, more scenery and props come together, and we can’t wait for families to see the finished set during next week’s performances. A huge thank you to everyone working behind the scenes to make our production look amazing!

Counselor Corner

We asked our counselors:

“Why do you love being a camp counselor for CCC Shines, and what is something you love about your campers?”

Shane: “I love being a camp counselor because after years of being here, it is great to see these kids grow as actors and people. I think it is amazing how talented they are and what they are able to accomplish with the show.”

Jacob: “I love being a camp counselor because I get to see a large group of kids from different parts of the area come together to put together a wonderful show in such a short time. I love when the kids are curious and ask lots of questions. I hope they keep the same curiosity and vigor for learning throughout life.”

Let’s Hear From Our Campers!

Today we asked our campers:

“If one of our counselors could play a character in Moana, who would they be?”

Here are some creative answers:

  • Maddie M.: “Ms. Jenna would play Tamatoa!”
  • Anna N.: “Ms. Lily would play Moana!”
  • Brian M.: “Mr. Will would play Maui!”

We love hearing our campers’ fun and imaginative answers!
