There was a little extra pixie dust at CCC Shines today as campers celebrated Disney Day! Dressed as their favorite Disney characters or wearing their favorite Disney gear, campers enjoyed a magical day filled with creativity, laughter, and rehearsal as we continue preparing for our production of Moana.
A Magical Day of Performing Arts
Campers continued working hard in Music and Dance, spending time reviewing all of the songs and choreography they have learned so far. With each rehearsal, their confidence continues to grow as they prepare for next week’s performances.
In Acting Class, campers participated in a variety of fun acting games designed to strengthen their performance skills. Through creative exercises and teamwork, they practiced thinking on their feet, expressing emotions, and becoming stronger performers while having plenty of fun along the way.
First Stumble Through!
One of today’s biggest accomplishments was our first full stumble through of the show! Campers worked together to put the entire production on its feet, practicing scenes, songs, choreography, and transitions from beginning to end.
A stumble through is an exciting milestone because it gives everyone the chance to see how all the pieces fit together. We are so proud of our campers for their focus, teamwork, and dedication as they continue preparing for opening night!
Creative Disney Fun
In Art Class, campers embraced the Disney spirit by creating beautiful Disney castles complete with colorful fireworks. Their creativity shined as they designed magical works of art inspired by some of Disney’s most iconic scenes.
Growing in Faith
In Faith Formation, campers listened to a meaningful story and then tested their Bible knowledge with several exciting rounds of Bible Bingo. Through fun activities and discussion, campers continued growing in their faith while learning more about God’s Word.
Games Galore!
Campers stayed active throughout the day with games of Blob Tag, Duck Duck Goose, and Capture the Flag. Whether they were working together as a team or cheering each other on, campers had a blast enjoying some friendly competition and outdoor fun.
Counselor Corner
We asked our counselors:
“Why do you love being a camp counselor for CCC Shines, and what is something you love about your campers?”
Faith: “I love being a counselor because it allows me to use my creativity in different ways. It’s always rewarding to see a show come together and to watch the campers grow in different aspects of their life. My favorite thing about the campers is when they tell the staff members they look up to them as an older sibling and role model.”
Tess: “I love being a counselor because I love getting to know the campers and all of their different personalities. My favorite thing the campers do is tell me about themselves and seeing how much fun they are having at camp.”
Let’s Hear From Our Campers!
Today we asked our campers:
“Who is your favorite Disney character?”
Here are some magical answers:
- Liliana B.: Elsa
- Katherine C.: Stitch
- Mary K.: Cinderella
From adventurous princesses to lovable aliens, it’s always fun to hear about our campers’ favorite Disney characters!
