Today was all about Sparkle and Shine at CCC Shines! Campers brought their brightest energy to camp as they celebrated a day filled with creativity, friendship, faith, and plenty of fun. From sparkling artwork to exciting games and show preparation, there was something special happening around every corner!
Shining on Stage
In Music Class, campers reviewed all of the music they have learned so far. As we get closer to showtime, our campers are working hard to remember their songs and continue building confidence as performers.
In Dance Class, campers spent the day reviewing their choreography and practicing the dances they have been learning throughout last week.
During Acting Class, campers focused on character work. They continued exploring how their characters move, think, and react, helping them become even more confident in bringing their roles to life on stage.
Creative Sparkle
In Art Class, campers created their own “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” hot air balloons. Inspired by the beloved Dr. Seuss book, campers used their creativity to imagine all of the wonderful places they could go and the adventures that await them!
Growing in Faith
In Faith Formation, campers talked about the Gospel and reflected on its message. They then put their Bible knowledge to the test with a fun game of Bible Bingo!
It was a great opportunity to learn, reflect, and have fun while growing together in faith.
Games Galore!
Our campers had plenty of opportunities to run, laugh, and play today! Games included Night at the Museum, Infection, and Red Light, Green Light. Whether they were sneaking around during Night at the Museum or racing across the field, campers had a blast!
Counselor Corner
We asked our counselors:
“Why do you love being a camp counselor for CCC Shines, and what is something you love about your campers?”
Mr. Andrew: “I came here for camp as a kid myself, and the joy it brings to everyone is what keeps me coming back as an adult on the other side.”
When asked what he loves about his campers, he shared that he loves “the endless questions about all sorts of things!”
Ms. Maddie F.: “I love being a camp counselor at CCC Shines because it gives me the opportunity to work with kids, and it is always fun to walk in the theater and sing and dance with the kids. I love when the kids tell me random stories they felt like telling me.”
