Another exciting day at CCC Shines brought us one step closer to showtime! While our younger campers enjoyed a fun-filled day of classes, our older campers took the stage for their first dress rehearsal. By the afternoon, the entire camp came together for a full run of the show!

A Day of Creativity and Faith

Our younger friends enjoyed a variety of activities throughout the morning.

In Art Class, campers created their own Cat in the Hat artwork, bringing one of Dr. Seuss’s most famous characters to life through creativity.

In Faith Formation, campers read a story about a saint and talked about how the saints show us what it means to follow Jesus and shine our light in the world. It was a wonderful reminder that we can share God’s love through our words, actions, and kindness toward others.

Campers also enjoyed time in Games, giving them a chance to play, laugh, and spend time with their friends.

Dress Rehearsal!

While our younger campers were busy in classes, our older friends had their first dress rehearsal! They had the opportunity to put their costumes, choreography, music, acting, and staging together as they prepare for the big performance.

Then, in the afternoon, all of our campers came together for a full run of the show! It was exciting to see all of the pieces they’ve been working on come together. We are so proud of the focus, teamwork, and dedication our campers are showing as showtime gets closer!

Counselor Corner

We asked our counselors:

“Why do you love being a camp counselor for CCC Shines, and what is something you love about your campers?”

Abby: “I love being a camp counselor because I get to see the campers grow in confidence over the course of the two weeks. Seeing them shine on stage makes all the hard work worth it! I love watching the campers make friends and long-lasting memories during camp! Some of my favorite memories are from being a camper myself, and seeing these kids get the same experience is the coolest thing ever!”

Keira: “I love being a camp counselor because I get the opportunity to connect with the kids through music, particularly the older ones who are the leads of our shows. I love when they get excited about learning their solos and harmonies with one another. It reminds me how much I love music and musical theater!”

Let’s Hear From Our Campers!

Today we asked our campers:

“What are three items you would need if you were stuck on a nest?”

Here are some creative answers:

  • Michael D.: Drone, sketchbook, and colored pencils
  • Cece S.: Pillow, microwave, and water filter
  • Grace M.: Ladder, blanket, and toy

We love seeing how creative our campers can be when faced with a silly question!

Campers of the Day

Congratulations to the following campers for shining brightly on and off the stage:

Bizzy Easton, Althea Notte, Emma Edler, Eloise Lyons, Charlotte Smith, Bear Hurtado, Ryan Murray, Fin Fioresi, Isabella DiNardis, Gracie Staman, Liam Easton, Camryn Ruane, and Pearl Highlands
